Prometheus is an educational carbon-market simulator. This notice explains, in plain language, exactly what we collect and why. We’ve kept it short on purpose — we collect very little, and we’d rather tell you the truth than pad it out.
What we collect
Two things, and only what the simulator needs to run:
- Your email address— used to create your account and log you in.
- Your gameplay data— the games you join, the decisions your firm makes, the orders and trades you place, and the abatement choices you take. This is the simulation activity itself; it’s what makes your game history and results possible.
How it’s stored
Your data lives in a Supabase (PostgreSQL) database. The database is hosted in the European Union(West EU / Ireland region). Access is restricted by row-level security so players see their own firm and games, not other people’s private positions.
Why we collect it
Solely to operate the simulator: to authenticate you, to run the games you take part in, and to show you your own history and results. That’s the whole purpose.
What we don’t do
- We do not sell or rent your personal data to anyone.
- We do not use your data for advertising, and we don’t run ad networks.
- We do not build advertising or marketing profiles from your gameplay.
Cookies
Logging in relies on cookies that are strictly necessary for authentication and keeping your session active. We don’t use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. The Cookie Policy has the details.
Deleting your data
You can ask us to delete your account and the data associated with it. Reach out via the contact pageand we’ll remove it.
Questions
Prometheus is an educational and research tool. If you have any question about privacy or your data, the maintainer is the contact point — see the contact page.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice as the simulator evolves. When we do, we’ll change the “last updated” date at the top — it’s worth a glance if you want to stay current.
